Common Trends
Some things that I noticed from going through my classmates' websites:
-
Photo/Video editing software often has a steep learning curve, or too many confusing features. Figuring out the base functionalities of this software can be a challenge.
-
Other people are also experiencing waning attention spans caused by an abundance of short-form media.
-
A common incentive for people to take this class was to understand better new forms of media, including their societal and individual impact.
What I would change/add
My media categorization was pretty thorough the first time around, however maybe I would add a section for reality TV. I watch cooking shows, and tutorials quite frequently as well, and would include instructional videos, blogs, and Wikipedia articles in the hierarchy. I could also fragment the video apps (Youtube, Tiktok, Instagram reels) further by the types of videos that I consume on each platform.

For challenges, I might think more practically and incorporate user experience challenges as well as problems caused by lagging, buggy platforms, or bad internet connection. These problems are a little bit easier to fix tangibly than the one I listed, which I can only address by limiting access to certain forms of media entirely.
